Flower Arrangement: Make Fishwire flowers

Flowers are nature’s gift to mankind. They spread the message of love, peace and brotherhood. They help us to express our deepest feelings without saying a word. Apart from this they also serve to brighten the environment wherever they may be kept. They also soothe our tired minds.

But sadly fresh flowers tend to wilt after a given period. However, you can easily replicate their charm through craft flowers. You can make them from almost every thing imaginable, like tissue paper, dinner napkins, beads, wire, discarded CDs and so on.

You can try to make pretty flowers with fishwife in the simple manner given below:

MATERIALS:

Fish wire

Thin copper wire

Green Tape

Cotton

Satin cloth

Thread

METHOD:

Have you ever seen a fish wire? It is a broad plastic tape with thin lines on it.  Take few pieces of the fish wire, of 6 inches each. From one end of each piece, leave one inch and cut along the lines without separating it, keep it aside.  Take a copper wire (used for the stem) of 10 inches length. With cotton, make a small bud, cover it with the satin clothe, tie this to the top end of the wire, the center part of the flower is ready. The length of the stem can be made long or short.

Tie the 6-inch piece fish wire petals to the wire (Stem). Now tie petal by petal around the bud, (tie them firmly to the stem wire because the satin cloth and the plastic fish wire are quite smooth) until it turns out to be a thick flower. Using the green tape wrap the stem wire to the end. The flower is ready and can be arranged with fresh leaves. This flower is washable. But remember that while washing, the stem should not get drenched. Fish wire is available in many colors, so you can make colorful flowers in different shades.
